Currently, account creation on this wiki is disabled. This is in order to vet all new contributors to make sure they have some connection to Warwick, in order to help limit spam and vandalism.

To request an account, please email alfie.giffen@warwick.ac.uk. If you have a university email address that you can use, please use this. SU or graduate email addresses are also fine. Otherwise, please provide some information and evidence of your link to the university (an email from a university-related email address is sufficient). In the email, please include the following:

  • Your desired username. The first character must be uppercase (or a non-alphabet character). Certain characters, such as "/", "#", "_" and ":", are not allowed. Spaces are allowed.
  • The email address you would like connected to your account. It is essential that you can access this email address. It can be your university email address, but remember to change it before you graduate (assuming you want to keep editing the wiki).

Once the account has been created, you will receive an email to your supplied email address with a temporary password. This will be from warwickwiki@uwcs.co.uk, and may go to your spam folder. You must then:

  1. Log-in to the wiki at Special:Login, using the temporary password from the email.
  2. Change your password as prompted.
  3. Take a moment to look through Special:Preferences and ensure that the wiki is configured to your liking.

Finally, head over to Project:New editors to learn about how to edit.
